What does it mean to Foster?

Fostering is the gateway between neglected and abused dogs to their forever and happily ever after lives. When you foster, you agree to take a homeless dog into your home and give them love, care and attention, either for a predetermined period of time or until the dog is adopted. Fosters’ care can truly heal and mend broken bodies and spirits both human and canine.

Why should you foster for BBR?

  • We are a foster based rescue and therefore do not have a shelter, we depend on fosters to care for dogs until suitable homes are found.

  • A puppy or a litter of puppies may be too young to be adopted and need a safe place to stay until they are old enough to go to a forever home. We highly recommend puppies to have gone through at minimum three rounds of vaccinations before going out in public to eliminate risk of potential illnesses.

  • A dog is recovering from Heartworm treatment, surgery, illness or injury and needs a safe place to recuperate.

  • We can help rescue a dog out of a shelter if a foster offer steps up... you'd be saving two lives as you are freeing up a spot at a shelter.

  • Fosters help us learn more about the dog and its personality so we can help place the dog in his/her perfect home.

  • Socializing the dog to a home environment and possibly getting him used to being around other pets and different types of people and to learn that they are loved.

  • Everything is Covered.  We will cover all medical costs and, if needed, even the food bill.

  • It’s rewarding! Knowing you made someone else’s family complete and you saved a life is an amazing feeling!
