About Us

Founded in honor of a very special dog named Belle, Belle's Buds Rescue (BBR) was created from a deep love for animals and a desire to make a lasting difference in their lives.  Belle was more than a beloved companion - she was an extraordinary therapy dog whose gentle spirit, calming presence, and unconditional love touched countless people and animals. Her compassion knew no bounds, and she brought comfort and joy everywhere she went.

Following two devastating floods, the loss of her husband, and ultimately the heartbreaking loss of Belle in December 2017, founder Tammy Livingston found herself searching for a way to heal while honoring Belle's legacy. She began fostering and rescuing dogs in need, determined to provide the same love, compassion, and second chances that Belle embodied throughout her life.

One rescue in particular would change everything. A dog named Adam had been struck by a truck and left injured and alone. Through the kindness of a Good Samaritan who helped cover his medical expenses, Adam was given a second chance. His journey inspired the creation of Belle's Buds Rescue and solidified Tammy's mission to help abandoned, neglected, and at-risk dogs find safety, healing, and loving forever homes.

What began as one woman's mission has grown into a dedicated rescue community powered by compassionate fosters, volunteers, donors, and adopters. Together, this women run volunteer rescue, works tirelessly to give dogs the opportunity to thrive and experience the love every animal deserves.

In 2020, Belle's Buds Rescue expanded its impact with the launch of our Northeast Hub, creating additional pathways for Texas rescue dogs to find loving homes throughout the Northeast. What started as a small partnership has grown into an invaluable extension of our mission, connecting dedicated fosters, volunteers, and adopters across New York, Pennsylvania, and surrounding states.

Today, the Northeast Hub serves as a bridge between dogs in need and families ready to open their hearts and homes. Together, our Texas and Northeast communities work hand in hand to provide second chances, unite families with their perfect companions, and continue the legacy of love, hope, and compassion that Belle inspired from the very beginning.
